CHINA FAW GROUP CORPORATION
Formally known as FAW, it’s a company that built its first fabric in Changchun, on July 15, 1953.
On July 13, 1956, under the leadership of the Chinese Central Committee and with the assistance of the former Soviet Union, the construction of China’s first automobile production base was completed and the first commercial model of Chinese truck came to light, the CA10 4-ton FAW Jiefang.
Known at the time as First Automotive Works (FAW) and now as FAW Group Co., Ltd., this sprawling Changchun, China-based car and truck manufacturer firmly launched the country into the automobile age. During its first thirty years of existence, its most important models were the Jiefang CA-10 truck, China’s first mass-produced car based on the ZiL-150. The new generation of the Jiafang truck, the CA141, went on sale in 1988.
